M+ Advisers: New Branding & Logo Design

Revealing the logo and branding package we designed for M+ Advisers, a new accounting firm in Canberra. Previously part of another firm, M+ Advisers decided to branch out independently and needed a fresh identity that reflected this new chapter while maintaining elements of their past branding. This approach ensured a seamless transition for their existing clients, reinforcing continuity in service, values, and professionalism.

In this blog post, we will delve deeper into the importance of a well-crafted logo and brand identity for accounting firms, particularly how they can differentiate themselves in a competitive market. A strong brand identity not only helps to attract new clients but also reinforces trust and loyalty among existing ones. We will explore various aspects of branding, including the psychological impact of colour and typography on consumer perception, and how these elements can be strategically used to convey a firm’s values and expertise.

So what did we do?

Typography

Typography plays a crucial role in branding, as it is often the first thing people notice. The choice of font can evoke specific emotions and associations. For instance, serif fonts are generally perceived as more traditional and reliable, while sans-serif fonts may suggest a more modern and approachable personality. By carefully selecting a bold slab font, we aimed to instil confidence and strength in M+ Advisers’ branding, ensuring that it resonates with their target clientele who seek professionalism and expertise in their financial dealings.

We selected a bold slab font for the logo to create a strong and modern look. The “M+” was designed as a branding lockup, making it versatile for various applications, including small-scale uses like social media profiles.

Moreover, colour psychology is a vital consideration in brand design. The shades of blue chosen for M+ Advisers were not only reminiscent of their previous branding but also carefully curated to elicit feelings of trust and security in potential clients. Research shows that blue is often associated with intelligence and stability, making it an ideal choice for accounting firms that need to project an image of dependability. We researched various blue shades that align with current design trends to maintain relevance while respecting the firm’s heritage.

Colour Scheme

In incorporating the squiggle element, we recognised its previous significance and sought to enhance its meaning through its representation in the new branding. This approach not only pays homage to the firm’s history but also helps clients feel a sense of familiarity and comfort in the brand. Additionally, we considered how these elements can be used across various platforms, such as websites, social media, and promotional materials, ensuring that the brand remains consistent and recognisable in all contexts.

To maintain brand recognition, we retained the blue colour scheme from the previous branding. Blue is traditionally associated with strength, reliability, and trust—qualities essential for an accounting firm. While similar to the original shades, we refined the colours slightly to reflect the firm’s new direction.

Icons & Brand Elements

A key feature of the previous branding was a squiggle element, which we incorporated in two meaningful ways:

1. As an underline, symbolizing the “bottom line” in accounting.

Beyond the logo itself, a comprehensive branding package is essential for maintaining a professional image. This includes guidelines on the correct usage of the logo to prevent any dilution of the brand identity. We provided M+ Advisers with a detailed Branding Guidelines document, which serves as a crucial reference for anyone creating materials on behalf of the firm. This document includes specifications for typography, colour usage, and examples of branding applications in real-world scenarios.

2. As a plus symbol, reinforcing the firm’s name and the positive impact of good financial management.

These elements provide a strong visual identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials.

The Final Accounting Logo and Branding: A Representation of Values

In conclusion, a strong brand identity is more than just a logo; it is an embodiment of a firm’s values, mission, and vision for the future. For M+ Advisers, the new branding encapsulates their commitment to providing exceptional service while honouring their legacy. As they move forward, we are excited to see how this fresh identity will help them connect with clients and strengthen their position in the market.

As the firm continues to grow, it is essential for M+ Advisers to remain adaptable with their branding. The new identity not only reflects their current offering but also positions them for future expansion. This foresight is crucial in a rapidly changing financial landscape where adaptability can be the key to sustained success. We encourage the firm to continually assess how their brand is perceived and make adjustments as necessary, ensuring they remain relevant and influential in the accounting industry.

We delivered a full branding package for M+ Advisers, including:

– A complete set of logo files for various applications, from signage to print and digital use.

– A detailed Branding Guidelines document outlining file usage, colour breakdowns, and branding applications.

– A full stationery set to support the firm’s professional image.

The new identity balances continuity with evolution, ensuring M+ Advisers moves forward with a fresh, bold, and recognisable brand.
